Brit Pack NewsESTELLE'S GOT GAME
Jan 30, 2012 Forget the awards, the collaborations and the song writing credits. You know you've made it big here when you snag a cameo in one of the country's top-rated TV shows. Estelle's appearance on BET's 'The Game' this month further solidified her popularity in the US market. And she's not stopping there. The West London native is embarking on a 14-date US tour to promote her upcoming album 'All of Me'. If you don't catch her then, peep her sharing the stage with greats like Aretha Franklin and Mary J Blige at the 2012 Essence Music Festival in July. She's getting more work than Simon Cowell these days, having already made appearances on VH1's 'Divas Celebrates Soul', NBC's 'The Tonight Show' with Jay Leno and BET's 'Black Girls Rock!' awards show. Phew! Most recently she performed at the United Negro College Fund 'An Evening of Stars' event, along with fellow Brit Marsha Ambrosious. I hope the two singers found time to have a chat backstage. Amidst the madness of red carpet posing and glitzy gowns it's nice to relax with someone who reminds you of home. As for the lesson to be learnt from Estelle's success - stay authentic and the accolades will come flooding in. |
