Tricia Clarke is an event professional and freelance print and broadcast journalist.
She is the owner of Crave Culture Events™ a multi-cultural event planning and production company. She is also the creator of Brits Across the Pond, a website that celebrates the British experience in America.
Born in Guyana, South America and raised in London, England, Tricia began her journalistic career as Music Editor at the UK’s biggest urban newspaper, The Voice.
In 2002 she joined the British Broadcasting Corporation as a Senior Broadcast Journalist on Radio 1 & 1xtra. During this time she was appointed the station’s New York correspondent.
In 2004 she became presenter of 1Xtra's 2-hour news, magazine and documentary programme TX Unlimited and hosted specials on the 2004 US Presidential election and Michael Jackson trial in 2005.
After moving to the US in 2005, she continued to freelance for the BBC and has contributed to BBC World Service and BET.com.
In 2006 she became an editor at National Public Radio and worked on two daily talk shows (Talk of the Nation, Tell Me More) developing story ideas, interviewing guests and editing scripts.
Since leaving NPR to start a family Tricia has continued to stay active within her community.
In 2010 she became President for a local chapter of Mocha Moms inc., a non-profit organization for mothers of color.
She is also an active blogger and has contributed to Black and Married With Kids, Clutch Magazine and Munamommy as well as creating her own blog/website featuring news and interviews on Brits in America - Brits Across the Pond
She recently launched her own cultural event planning business - Crave Culture Events - which coordinates events that celebrate heritage and diversity.
Tricia currently resides in Aberdeen, Maryland with her husband and two children.
