About Me

Picture

In September 2005 I embarked on the biggest adventure of my life. I left my job as a BBC Radio 1/1Xtra radio journalist in the UK to begin a new life in the USA and in a few short weeks I'd swapped big city life for motherhood in the suburbs!

The experience began as a real struggle; from the complicated green card
process, to finding real Cadbury's chocolate!

But, nine years on and two adorable little boys later I have few regrets and a
steady supply of Dairy Milk!

The journalist in me began documenting my experiences and I created Brits Across The Pond (BATP) partly to keep sane, but mainly to help other ex-pats attempting to embrace a new life.

BATP strives to showcase and celebrate Brits who live here, inspire those who don't and encourage others who want to.

I hope Americans who are curious about all things British come here first and the site serves as an informative resource for everyone.
