Brit Spotting Round-up 4/15April 15, 2012
BRIT RICH LISTIt’s only April but there’s no doubt that British singer Adele can declare 2012 as the best year of her life.
Not surprisingly she has topped the ‘Sunday Times Rich List’ of young British musicians. The newspaper’s ‘Rich List 2012’, set to come out on April 29, includes 60 young millionaires along with the 1,000 richest people in Britain and the 250 richest in Ireland. Adele was the UK’s highest earning singer who has more than tripled her wealth to $31.8 million. It’s mainly thanks to her second album, ‘21’, which by the way, is still in the US charts after 24 weeks. Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis and Katie Melua share the second spot with an estimated $19.1 million in the bank and topping the young actors list is Daniel Radcliffe with a whopping $86.1 million. Thank goodness for Harry Potter! |
MACY CHOOSES IDRIS
It’s a weird combination I know. And even weirder when you realize that the pair are not collaborating on a movie together - but a new track.
It’s all part of Macy’s new album which is, in fact, a collection of other people’s songs.
‘Covered’ features a collection of popular R&B, soul, rap and rock hits, including a duet with Idris Elba on pop singer Colbie Caillat's ‘Bubbly’ and a rendition of Kanye West's ‘Love Lockdown’.
The Grammy-winner chose to put her own spin on 10 of her favorite songs to give fans something unexpected. I’d say the bigger surprise was collaborating with Idris. But I guess, just like everyone else, she's a fan.

TRISHA'S COMING
After an up-and-down career and overcoming breast cancer British talk-show host Trisha Goddard is attempting to revive her name by coming to the US.
The presenter will be hosting a new show on NBC later in the year.
She began her career as the first black female presenter in Australia and was last seen on British TV in 2009.
It's hard to say how the show will be received. UK talk shows are remarkably less sensational than US ones. And even one of the trashiest, 'The Jeremy Kyle Show', hasn't been given rave reviews. Here's hoping Trisha's mothering nature and no nonsense attitude is better received than Piers Morgan has been.
